What does “Intradiegetic” mean and why is that the name?

How is Intradiegetic different from a management consultancy?

Management consultancies typically start with strategy or operations and treat communication as a downstream function — the thing that explains what has been decided. Intradiegetic starts with communication as the operating layer itself. Strategy, decisions, and identity are all communication problems at their core. Intradiegetic redesigns the architecture of how organisations think, speak, decide, and exist — a fundamentally different scope from a strategy or efficiency engagement.

Do you work with the communications function specifically, or broader leadership?

Both, depending on the engagement. Think and Exist engagements typically involve the CEO, CCO, and executive team — they are operating model and identity-level questions. Speak engagements often sit with the CCO and communications leadership. Decide engagements can involve the COO, strategy function, and transformation office. Every engagement has an executive sponsor because the architecture questions cannot be resolved below that level.

What size of organisation do you work with?

Intradiegetic works with medium & large enterprises and global organisations — typically those with complex, multi-market communication structures, significant AI adoption underway or planned, and leadership teams grappling with structural transformation. The engagements are not appropriate for organisations that need tactical communication support. They are appropriate for organisations that need to redesign the system that produces that support.

What sectors do you work in?

The structural challenges of human–AI communication operating model design are sector-agnostic — but the regulatory environment, stakeholder complexity, and cultural context differ significantly. How long does a typical engagement take?

A diagnostic or sprint engagement runs 6–12 weeks. A full operating model transformation runs 6–12 months. Retainer engagements (thought leadership, AI Content Lab, leadership positioning) are ongoing. Intradiegetic is designed to move quickly — boutique structure means no approval layer between senior adviser and client decision.

Do you help with EU AI Act compliance?

Yes. The EU AI Act’s Article 50 transparency obligations become fully enforceable on 2 August 2026 and have direct implications for every organisation using AI to generate, assist, or distribute communication content. Fines for non-compliance can reach €35 million or 7% of global annual turnover. Intradiegetic’s compliance architecture service builds the governance, labelling, oversight documentation, and cross-functional coordination that Article 50 requires — treating compliance as a transparency advantage rather than a bureaucratic burden.

What is your position on AI replacing human communicators?

AI replaces execution layers. It does not replace judgment, strategic interpretation, relational intelligence, or authentic human voice. Intradiegetic’s position is philosophically grounded: AI is an intelligent instrument in service of human communication — not its replacement. The organisations that will thrive are those that use AI to amplify irreplaceable human capacities rather than eliminate them.
